We have maintained even earlier that days like the budget are increasingly becoming a non-event for the markets. Though specific sectors and stocks do react, however, budgets do not have the kind of directional impact that we used to see back in the day. E.g. PM Modi’s announcement of the 1 Cr Rooftops solar panels did not wait for the budget day and similarly other such announcements keep happening through the year reducing impact on a single day.

Having said that, since the event is so near, any large allocations can wait for the event to pass, however at the same time we believe that investors can start nibbling below 21k of the Nifty and get fully deployed in case the Nifty goes below 20,500.
