Results last week were quite disappointing, especially the core numbers. Though the bank is trading at all time low valuations, concerns on growth remain.

Our views here:

1) We don’t believe the company would go back to the kind of growth it saw in the earlier decades

2) Having said that, the stock is surely trading undervalued and there is a fair room for correction on the upside

3) Merger benefits and synergies should start kicking in sometime later this calendar year

4) At this stage considering that other sections of the markets are trading and discounting lot of positives, one should continue to hold the stock and maybe revisit when some parity emerges Vs long term valuation averages and better performance once synergies kick in
